Through the last twenty years of exploring painting, my work has taken me in many directions. My first love was watercolor for its transparency and intense color. Over the years I have expanded to blending other media with watercolor such as acrylics, pastels, and pigment powders. Three years ago my husband and I started traveling more which diminished my painting time but increased time in museums, galleries and researching my favorite artists. While bicycling in Holland I was thrilled by many Van Goghs and other impressionistic art. This year bicycling in Provence, France, we walked in Van Gogh's foot steps. Now, I am painting on canvas with acrylics. It feels like a new beginning; more abstract with lots of texture. I am very excited to present my latest paintings. |
